Lockdown Shed

So I finally finished it today (not including inside, I still need to buy hardboard to board it) and thought I'd share what I've been banging on about for weeks!!

The timber. Originally I had ordered from Wickes as they were cheapest (boss has a trade card which helped), due to covid related problems it was going to take 3 weeks to deliver. Oh well I thought, it'll be the same everywhere else. Day before delivery I got a phone call to say we are really sorry but the pieces you want are no longer in stock and cant give you a timeframe on when they will be  I said it was all in stock 3 weeks ago when I ordered and paid for it :x Gave me some crap about not being able to hold onto peoples orders until delivery. I got a refund, ordered from a local company which cost approx £80 more but they delivered next day!! Also it was thicker pieces so probably for best

Yes there are plenty of bits that will need a touchup but all in all I'm very bloody happy with my first shed

You can always change em later when she's not looking 😂

Inwards more likely to get water in as you can't overlap floor, and you have to keep floor clear behind to open them, easier to break into as you just have to shove a door in, other than that not many drawbacks.

Let the wife plan doors next time she sounds like a keeper 👍

Things I'll think about :thumb: as you say I can always reverse them when she's not looking

Security wise one of the best things is that it's not visible at all from any roads or even the neighbours due to high hedges and other buildings. Plus this is the view from the top of my garden.

The shed isn't even visible until you have walked halfway down the grass :)

That cat is my namesake  13 years old now.

I've just got off the phone with the wifes mum and she's said I can take all the workbench and crates out of dads shed. She has sold the house and likes the idea of me having it to use. I want to go up now and get it all. Will probably take a couple of trips and I'll need my angle grinder to cut it into sections to fit in car, will be worth it though :D

Had to look then as I didnt know what you were on about

I've got plenty of those jars (get them from fish shop) and have handed them out to loads of family and friends over the years. Come in useful as they are a decent large size.

Its just an old boc migmaster 130. My welding skills are pretty much for sticking things back together and not caring about looks so it does what I need

Top job there Tiggie :thumb:

I'm another voter for the wife is right! get them doors opening outwards

My garage side door opens inwards and it can be a pain when the pile of wood I have just on the inside of the door collapses and jams the door

Fine fine fine I'll get on it, I swear the wife has been messaging you lot

I'm going mad now as I've got lights going but not sockets yet. I had planned to do them today but after mother said I could have that workbench I should wait until I've got it as I don't know what height it is. Don't want sockets too low to the bench so I can't get plugs in, conversely I don't want to fit them too high so it looks stupid

I can't get it until tomorrow or Wednesday either :crybaby:
