I want to make my exhaust pop and crackle on decel, I've got an 1800 intruder, so fuel injection, can't tweak the carbs, I've seen one that pops and bangs and even spat flames, I got cobra long shot debaffled exhausts, any suggestions? Thanks all

Welcome to the forum

You get the popping noise by running the engine lean. I guess you could get a power commander fuel controller to do this as you haven't got carbs.

The flames in the exhaust were probably done by running a spark plug into the exhaust on some kind of switch.

Not my area of expertise I'm afraid

Thanks for the reply,

The flames im not fussed about. My mates bike didn't have a power commander. And his pops were insane, only thing he done was take baffles out, so figured that would do it for me to. But guess not.

Debaffling an exhaust does make it run leaner which is what gives the pop.

It's not something I know much about to be honest. If anything I know more about how to make bikes run normal

It will be the PAIR system or secondary air system whatever it is called on your bike

It introduces air to the exhaust to weaken the emissions to meet standards

The fresh air that's introduced makes any unburnt fuel pop and bang

You can block them off on most bikes

Hi

Just so you know on the ZRX 1200 in particular you blank off all that stuff and it pops and bangs all over the place lol.

Great fun and I I will accept its childish lol.

Hatfield tunnel is one of my favourites 😁

Cheers

Ian
