Just a local jaunt today to the Super Sausage on the A5. Quite a few bikes there. Nice 90 mile bimble good mix of roads all were tarmac XTreme and no abandoned villages / towns.

Then A quick stop at an open pub  for a swift half.

Nice one @JRH........but how are there so many bikes there on a weekday?

Yep , retirees . Before Covid there used to be midweek daytime bike meets near me . Most bike meets I attend seem to have a very high proportion of bald heads , grey beards and pot bellys these days . As I've said elsewhere , these are the end days for bikes and biking as we know it . The passing of this generation will more or less coincide with the turning off of the petrol .

I think in the last week I've seen one younger person on a bike for every 10 or so old gits like me. That said I have seen a few young women on bikes and probably more than when I were a lad. So it might not be all bad.

Well I'll probably get shit for this but I'm a member of Sportster Sickness FB group ( I didn't choose the name

! ) and I have to say that my perception is that there is a healthy proportion of 30 - 40 somethings that ride Harley Sportsters . Many of these have come straight into motorcycles because they are attracted by the whole Harley Davidson image thing but I have no problems with that . You don't need to have paid your dues to be a biker , just the deposit . Who cares if they can't use a spanner , it keeps the dealerships busy .

But how many of those will be involved in a motorcycling just as a short term craze?

The vast majority seem to be absolutely obsessed to be honest . Have a look at the FB page .

That’s what I thought. The majority were probably retirees. The rest probably on furlough or laid off.

You shouldn't be posting porn....

I’m like that too about lettuce to be fair.

I think you misunderstood me.

For me porn is something that is usually far away, super gorgeous and that I can't eat :P

and then the young women get pupped and then exchange their bike for a pram

Ahahahaha I waited until they were out the pram and big enough to get on the back before passing my bike test so don't assume we are all the same

It is a chicken burger with melted cheddar and bacon, and some salad because that will totally balance out the chips.

Has to be my favourite bike cafe.

I went to Idle Torque at Lutterworth to begin with. Stood at the cafe being ignored to ten minutes before overhearing them saying they'd run out of bread and bacon. It'd just gone 11 and there was only a handful of customers. I guess some people don't want their businesses to succeed - I've never know a cafe relying on breakfasts and sandwiches to run out of two key ingredients
