And just to add.....they're not happy with just generating new strains of virus........they're bringing back old ones as well. Because they've reported Bubonic Plague there now!

What's next? The Black Death?

Keep them and their products in their country is the answer!

Ok , so enlighten me . What has China got to gain by reducing the market for its exports ? The true enemy here is what used to be called the Population Explosion coupled with affordable air transport for the masses . New viruses are far more likely to emerge from areas of greater population density and the population density in China is truly mind boggling . In other words it's just a colossal Petrie Dish . That's my simplified view of for what it's worth . Oh yeah , the Black Death is easily treatable with Antibiotics .

No idea. Don't think they have said yet.

On subject of Halfords, I found if you order car/bike parts from their website that they use eurocarparts to fulfill the order. So if you ever need to order from Euro its worth going through halfords if possible so you can use your discount card :thumb:

Halfords website has always been painfully clumsy to use which cannot have helped matters.

China's domestic economy is far, far bigger than it's export market. A diminished global market wouldn't be a big blow to them by any means!

And the Black Death is easily treatable with Antibiotics? It may well be - Medieval Diseases and Pestilence aren't specialists subject of mine - but do we really need something like that unleashed on the public along with the ongoing fight against Covid?

I think people have just about had a gutful of the Chinese by now! Whether Covid was deliberate or accidental, the buck stops with them. And they should be made to pay mass restitution for what they've done.

If Halfords use Eurocarparts to fulfil orders that's another nail in the coffin. I've avoided them like the plague (*) since they got caught buying trusted brand names then filling the boxes with far eastern made crap.

(*) - see what I did there - brought the whole thread back on topic. :thumb:

Didn't know that

I did once buy some brake pads for my car from them. Online, used the car reg thing so I ordered the ones they said would fit. Completely different shape for my calipers. Went in branch to exchange and the guy on counter was really helpful.

Said not to trust the car reg thing and to always check part numbers yourself as there system is crap

Hopefully the Rugby branch is busy enough to stay open, I would be dissapointed if they closed.

Agree with what's said they are next to useless if you want a part for a car except for oil, spark plugs, wiper blades or the odd filter.

What they are handy for is car/bike cleaning products and the rack with the bubble packs of screws, washers and widgets.

I just think it's the way retail is heading as a whole. Asda and Tesco practically sell everything and people go there every week so might as well pick it up with weekly shop.

Amazon and eBay take care of the rest.

Even prior to Covid retail was heading for the crapper. It's so much easier to sit at home browsing rather than tramping round the shops. There's some stuff I like to at least see in the flesh before buying and many places will match an online price if you ask. Covid in many cases has just been the final nail in the coffin.

Same as working from home and being furloughed - how many ordinary people are going to end up losing their jobs when companies decide they don't need so many staff. Home working means a lot of support staff such as secretaries etc aren't needed. The more you dig into it the worse it gets.
