If anyone on the forum works in HR for a Scottish based shipping company please look away now.

Someone decided it would be a good idea to send me to Rotterdam where I can get a Covid test and then quarantine in a hotel until the result or until the ship berths.

So firstly I don't get the right information as to where I shall be collected from at Amsterdam airport. After 2 hours someone turns up. I then get transported to Rotterdam and check into an admittedly nice hotel. Agent's rep says it's a 10 minute walk to clinic so off I trot. 2 miles later I find clinic and it is CLOSED. Turns out it's closed all weekend and the earliest I MIGHT get tested is Monday! I am somewhat pissed off.

To add insult to injury all the bars here are heaving and social distancing is a joke. Haven't seen a mask since I left the airport.

Could be worse though I suppose.

That’s standard in cruise industry, they give me just address, hotel, office what ever. Than you have to get there by yourself. No agents no nothing, but in all this years I got use to it actually prefer this way. Not to mention that I was pissed of in the beginning as was use to agency service.

Last minute preparations for my trip to Scotland . I've no idea about campsite availability due to Covid 19 restrictions so I am equipped for any eventuality .

It's the wrong time of year to be planting daffodil bulbs.

Nobody will be writing poetry about what I'll be planting .

Been checking out the info on another station for this weekend!

It's not going to be Dakar conditions (like Gorafe) to access it.......but there will be some offroad involved.

I did a similar trip but in 2 separate routes.

Did the east coast on one and west on the second.

The west coast journey I started from Lochgilphead and up to Oban, the road to the west of Lochgilphead is really nice with stunning views.

I did the distillery tour a couple of years ago (ok it was in a car) but I can recommend the A86 towards Dalwhinnie from the west coast. Lovely road with some nice straights but plenty of sweeping and tight bends. The pics are from one of the scenic stops I had.
