Sounds cheap but in 1976 my pay before tax/NI etc was less than £70 for a 48 hr week!

Actual pay was £64 per week .. That was for a 48 hour week including working nights and weekends.

In 1976 an average pint of beer cost 32p per pint. The average wage then £72 per week for 40 hours.

The average wage as all averages to me is crap, I was on just over £30 in 76 and so were most of the staff at our works, but at least fuel was cheaper then.

According to the bank of England inflation adjustor £899 in 1966 is £16,873.65 today. Not such a bargain.

Edit: whilst the above is correct I misread - 1976 adjusted would be £6,519.61. So, somewhat of a bargain.

The thing I've noticed from the ad is they don't give the RD400's model code but the fact it has the new fangled alloy wheels.

Also no 1975 Triumphs for sale as not many made during shut in.

Still the weather was nice.
