Wrist watches - what you got/want?

Nothing posh. A g shock and s couple of storm ltd editions and a storm I won in a competition. I never wear a watch though. What I'd really like is a very cheap watch with a simple clear analogue display and NATO strap. The kind of watch that would survive anything and still only costs £15.

£15 will not survive anything. £50 maybe. A g shock is your best bet for toughness, but they're usually digital.

I looked at some of the Timex like the expedition camper. Not sure of it's any cop though. I like my g shock but there is just too much going on visually. Maybe an MWC g10?

Had 2 batteries & new strap in 7 years.

I never take it off except to give it a quick clean.

Absolutely - 10x budget though. Any Seiko 5 should do you too - pretty solid watches.

I have a nice 1992 Seiko Chronograph 6M23-7000 Intelligent calender picked up at a flea market in 2013 was a real steal for £100 it was like new. My day to day watches are a Timex explorer a 20 quid bargain from decathlon and a Casio solar watch. My latest addition is a Russian Vostok divers wind up which keeps great time and are meant to be quite robust.

A Smart watch, pick your brand I have a Huawei Watch 2.

I no longer carry a Wallet NFC payment for just about everything,

Timers & notifications without getting phone out of pocket,

Using stow card app I have all my loyalty cards in one spot,

View ranger gives me on wrist walking navigation plus google maps (with navigation),

Music Control,

Plus a couple of apps I use at work,

Heart rate monitoring step monitoring etc,

Traditional watches I have not worn for a decade, for reasons given.

My smart watch I am not without unless its charging which is a daily task (the worst part), although it only takes an hour.

A seiko for my thirtieth birthday some years ago. I love it. It was expensive in our thinking when my wife bought it. image.jpg

Looking at the time of your post it seems fairly accurate!

Date is way out though lol.

Cheers

Ian

Ok , I've just remembered that I do actually have a watch . Mine is a Casio " Bin Laden " watch . I'll leave it up to anyone who is interested to Google the reason behind this unlikely nickname .

The last and only watch I had was a long time ago, I got it from my uncle for my 18th birthday, it was a nice watch it told the time and that was it, sometime a year later I managed to smash it completely whilst wearing it using a mash hammer.

Now if I hadn't have been wearing it I probably wouldn't have done that as I was stupid enough to glance at the watch whilst delivering a blow, my thought was Hmmmmm I should probably take it off.

Never look at something you don't want to hit whilst wielding a hammer.

I do like my watches, actually (as the OP will be aware). :P

Only too aware! Care to share a quick and dirty collection pic?! 😉

I don't have a single photo but they're all here, Geoff. Are you on TZ much these days?

So nice. New sub too! Well done. Nah I'm not on tz or wus - I'm out of the game. Still on my little forum for the chat though.
