Out And About

Brilliant day yesterday.

My blade, Revs 600RR and Steve's R1.

Down to Inverary, and was going down the RABT. Thought at about 125-130 that I better roll off until I catch Revs lights in my mirror (I hadn't even looked in them yet) and she was pinned right to my tail.

From Inverary up to the Welly (Revs first time there), and back to Crianlarich where the A85 was closed from there due to an accident (not sure if it was a bike or what).

Back round Loch Lomond where Revs and Steve swap bikes for a bit

And back home again.

Fantastic ride, with only a couple of spots of rain, and a short stretch of wet roads.

Fantastic.

Twas me just getting back from Hamilton motorcycles and a small run.

Didnt expect the downpour tho.

If you live up there then I have probably passed you loads, both on the bike and in the car.

Although you are probably more likely to see Revs on her 600RR.

How was Davie doing at Hamilton Motorcycles anyway ?

'Twas my wee brothers stag do at the weekend - off to Aviemore on the bike it was.

Had all day and wanted some tags for Challenge 100 and a couple of others from another photo rally that i'm doing, so up the A82 it was, stopped at Drovers, Green Welly, Glencoe, Maccy D's, Commando Memorial, somewhere after Fort William - wee bit of snow at Fort Augustus, Inverness and finally Aviemore (well actually we stayed in Granton on Spey).

Came home on Sunday, i was so fecking hungover i went straight down the A9 - ran into a few miserable sleety/haily/rainy showers.

Couple of snaps (only from Friday - couldn't be ar$ed stopping on Sunday and the ones from Fri night and Sat aren't for public consumption  ):

  • 2 weeks later...

Left work early today (one of the benefits of Cooncil flexi time!) and lets face it, it would have been rude not to with the weather been so nice

Thought i'd head for the coast and turn my 22 mile trip home into 80 odds, through Largs, Weymss Bay, Port Glasgow - nobody any the wiser 8-)

Had the bike at work today so decided to take the slightly longer route home from Edinburgh, so came off at the newbridge roundabout and back via kirklistin, linlithgow etc...

So probably half of those roads are 30/40mph, of the ones that are nationals most of them have road works and are down to 30/40. Got stuck in start/stop traffic in one little town with no opportunity to squeeze through for 20mins. Finally got onto a road that WAS a national and as I was approaching noticed it was a bit wet. Then realised not just a bit wet, absolutely soaked as was everything else around from some serious downpour!! lots of surface water, huge puddles in every dip and rivers running down both sides. WTF?! 20+ and glorious sunshine everywhere- except the one road I decide to take home! >:[

Took the bikes out for a spin today seeing as we both had the day off, went up to Callander then Aberfoyle via the Dukes Pass. Hoped the roads would be quiet seeing as its a weekday but sadly not. Roads were very busy with the usual sorts that think that that white circle with the big black line means 40mph max (some even seemed to think it means 20mph). Ride back over the Dukes Pass we didn't get stuck behind anyone but that was the only time we didn't. Very frustrating ride. :|
