Mod 2 at Burton Upon Trent test centre

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

After miraculously managing to pass Mod 1 last week first time (with zero minor faults :-) ), my instructor has now put in for a cancellation for a Mod 2 test date for me.

I will have a full day Mod 2 training beforehand, but am looking for advice/ hints/ tips. Has anyone taken their test at that centre & know of any difficult or confusing bits of roads used on the test route?

Am starting to panic!!!!!

Fredc,

If possible, could I have a copy of the Burton On Trent Mod 2 routes?

Would love to be able to get a feel of the area before taking my DAS course.

Many thanks.

Hi guys.

New to the forum and noticed this useful feed.

Been riding for a year on my 125 and just passed my DAS Mod 1 on Thursday. :)

Have got my Mod 2 at Burton test centre this week.

Any chance of any routes that anyone knows or areas they normally go so I can do as much prep before in addition to my lessons. Don't know burton too well so like to be prepared!

Any hints or tips also welcome

Cheers.

I don't know anything about the area but congratulations on passing Mod 1 and Best of luck with the Mod 2!

Try not to panic too much, try and be relaxed, take your time and enjoy the ride. Some nerves are ok but too much can make you tense and make silly mistakes. Get a nice nights sleep and have a good breakfast in the morning to help your concentration.

Remember your mirrors & lifesavers and make them clear and obvious for the examiner.

I was advised to park the bike as far away from the examiners bike as possible at my test centre so you've got lots room to turn out of the space.

Don't make the mistake I did on my first test of missing speed limit signs so I didn't know the limit on the road (ended up failing for going to slow).

Fingers crossed for you. :)

I have the Burton Upon Trent test routes if you want them ( and all UK routes )

They stopped publishing them a couple of years ago

but they usually stick to the old routes

Don’t worry yourself too much. I passed mod 2 last week in Bristol which is covers a vast area that I don’t know and in a way it helped, just road what I saw in front of me rather than worrying about difficult roundabouts, junctions or lanes. I was as nervous as you sound but what’s the worse that can happen? You could fail, so what? You will pass at some point, maybe on that day, if not then another. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Hey,

I have my Mod 2 booked at Burton on Tuesday.

Do you still have these routes by any chance?

Cheers!
