I'm embarrassed ...

... riding home tonight I have to take a busy A38 and evening rush hour sees bumper to bumper traffic for a mile or so.

Anyway, three lanes. Lane 1 is a 24 hour bus lane allowing motorcycles, lanes 2 and 3 are stationary. I used the bus lane and on this 40mph road I keep it down to 30mph just to be sure. On the left is a junction and a car stops at the give way. He can't go anywhere but I keep an eye on him anyway. His brake lights go off so I roll back off the throttle and make sure we get eye contact ... we do and he pulls out across the bus lane and stops blocking my way.

I had to hit the brake and stopped about a metre from him. Flip the sidestand down and get off calling him a f'ing knob. He shouted back 'get a f'ing car then you c@*t.

Now my embarrassement ... I punched his quarter wound window and oops! it broke. Two guys who witness all of this jumped out of their cars and stoped the guy getting out of his car. He waas shouting f'ing wa@*ker broke my window. One of the guys helping said no mate it was already broke. I got on bike and got out of there.

Not proud but I have to own up to my naughty deed. On here anyway. Might even report it just to clear my conscience.

Pretty cold out there, most likely already had a crack and when you politely tapped on his window it just broke into tiny pieces, was good of you to offer your sincere apologies and both wished each other a pleasant evening and went on your way.

Much as I have been sometimes so tempted I've realised that somewhere there will be some poor unsuspecting biker who won't know why this guy is likely to carve them up without provocation or warning.

I've generally found that when the caged have nowhere to go having a bike's headlight a few feet from their face starts making them look pretty silly pretty quickly.

Revenge is an art, best done slowly and with subtlety.

f**k him. Sounds like you served him with a bikers notice.

Not your fault the window was already broken. Id say it was mighty considerate of you to stop and point it out to him.

Well, I've given it some serious thought and I have to ask myself the question ... What window?

Has senile hit you early phooey? When you tap on a window and there are electric windows they open automatically
