I picked this up today from Halfords (dont judge me  ) it was only a quid more than the halford brand stuff. Is it ok for my bike? Im guessing its a litte overkill but its not gonna cause damage is it? I assume it is fully synthetic being 'racing'.

Well I knew to avoid the cheap stuff for cars

Sounds like you hae been listening to someone crying already

I was using car oil in my 125 for the longest time. Partly because of what you say about oils Stu.

3 engines blew their top end. Possibly a coincidence.

What's not a coincidence was the clutch slip. Considerable loss in torque from pull away.

Changed the oil and it's the easiest bike to wheelie again

Now I stick to motorcycle oil religiously.

If you are getting clutch slip you are using the wrong oil ;-)

Keep away from the oils that contain friction modifiers

No!

you will be using an oil of the wrong spec with too much friction modifiers in it

Can you give an example of a cheap car oil without friction modifiers in? I'll give it a go...
