So im having a clearout and selling a load of my old junk on ebay.

In the last few days from buyers i've had:

* Sorry, i didnt read the description - i dont want the item... I had to cancel the order

* Someone overpaid for a stack of scrap wooden flooring. I had about 1.5m of wood, they needed about 6m... i had to refund them.

* Some guy has bought something thats collection only but he's not paid and seemingly not interested in collecting!

* Ripped off on postage charges by Royal Mail...

Then from sellers i've had:

* wrong item delivered from china (but they emailed to warn the wrong thing was on its way??)

* new jacket i ordered a few days ago still not arrived....

Seriously, whats wrong with the idiots on eBay?? it used to be a great place with respectful people who understood the rules, these days it seems to be full of d*cks.

So come on, whats your eBay horror stories?

I cant stand it.

Had a guy hound me to reduce price on something i had listed, eventually accepted a best offer from him. He then messed about for 2 weeks saying his bank was holding funds so couldnt pay and wouldnt reply to my messages.

When he eventually paid after i opened a case, he had the cheek to ask how quickly it would be posted as he needed it asap. He also told me i must package it very well as he didnt want a damaged item. Felt like hand delivering it and wrapping it around his head.

I was positive he was going to try it on afterwards saying it was damaged or parts missing to get a refund but i never heard anything.

on the flip side... yesterday bought two items from two different sellers both marked despatched today. bought something this morning at 840am seller messaged me with the tracking and marked despatched by 930. so there are some good guys still out there!

DERAILS THREAD WITH HOW SHIT HERMES ARE

I had a right mare with my indicator but that was more the fact the seller sent with hermes who lost it. TWO WEEKS LATER hermes eventually admitted to losing it so seller sent replacement with royal mail that arrived three days later... then later that day hermes turned up with the lost one. luckily my amazing home made indicator is holding up ok

I've been fairly lucky and only got messed about once.

Was selling a couple of car mirrors, sold for not a lot of money, then the buyer didn't pay up and didn't respond to messages.

Then they had the cheek to give me negative feedback .

Apart from that I've bought plenty without issues and sold probably 50 items trouble free excepting mirror man.

I bought some pads for the R1,didn't turn up via Hermes.

Contacted seller who was most apologetic, sent me another set immediately and gave a partial refund.

As you say, there are some honest ,reliable types out there

My wife cleared out some of her unworn clothes a few months back. One of the tops was bought by some woman who clearly changed her mind and instead of saying "sorry, can I send it back", cut a load of holes in it and claimed that it was damaged.

Luckily she sent it to our old address and the eBay fairies sided with us.

The recent one of selling my bike;

Starts with a fella bidding a stupidly low amount - I reject telling him far too low.

3 days later I get a message "I know it's low but I will pay it". I tell him no chance and he tries to link me to other bikes 200 miles away cheaper than mine - I politely tell him I don't care.

2 days before the auction ends he comes to me trying to get my best price. He even used the fact that he preferred the bike in black which is why I should go cheaper . I give him my best price which is very good and he still wants 50 quid off but I refuse, and he's not the politest fella "it's just 50 knock it off" no please or any other manners. He then asks a load more questions, before finally saying "so what's the price".

I told him the price I said earlier. He then waits until 9pm to say he is ok with the price and wants to come view it that night.

I ignored him after that, didn't trust him one bit and he was only going to try haggle me down further if he come round.

The best one I had was the guy who bid on a caravan I was selling and then rolled up to collect it in a car without a towbar.

The most annoying recent one was a specialist boat trailer I sold - collection only - made perfectly clear in the listing, bought by a guy who lives in Devon (we're in Cheshire) who then expected me to deliver it to him!

It's got to the stage where I have a load of Suzuki oil / air filters I am going to bin rather than risking ebay again.

What are they off? A lot of suzuki filters fit many bikes they could be useful to someone on here

Suzuki RV125 VanVan. Oil filters (6 I think), Air filters (2 + virtually full tin of oil for them), diagnostic switch for the fuel injection and an unused indicator. I could pop them in the for sale section on here I guess.

Oh - and a Givi 660 screen and a Givi top box. All sat on my bench because I'm not putting them on ebay.

Bought a Seiko Kinetic watch a couple of years back now. Described as 'as new, only worn to try on and never worn again'

Turned up, light scratching all over the strap, a deep gouge in the glass and a nice cmixture of skin/dirt all over the back of it...

Contacted the seller first, before contacting eBay, who gave me some sob story that it was her late husband's watch, he'd never worn it, I was mistaken, must be my fault, blah blah blah

I decided to take loads of pictures showing the issues, as I figured she was now going to claim I'd done it, eBay found in my favour and I eventually got my money back. She had 100% feedback up to that point, no idea why she'd lied about the watches condition, but it was plain to see it was far from 'as new'!

^ Same as above happened on a smaller scale to me, an actual store on eBay was selling Haynes manuals advertised as brand new. I bought one and paid a couple of quid more than the used ones as you would expect. When it arrived the corners of the manual were curved over and then pages had black finger marks all over them. It was only a couple of quid more, but the sheer cheek of it pee'd me right off. I ended up getting some free chain lube out of it .

A recent idiot while selling my mates BMW. He bid and won the item only to send me an e-mail the next day telling me it was an accident as his son had got hold of his phone and bid on it! Total bullsh*t. I reported him but had to re list it at my own cost again.

Why would it cost you if it wasn't sold? And couldn't you have made the next in line bidder an offer to buy?

There wasn't another bidder and I had to re list the bike again as it had been removed as sold. :(
