So THAT'S why people like motorbiking so much

Recommended Posts

Not going to get in the habit of posts like this, but having had my first real blast out in the sun I've come home buzzing! Have had a few recreational rides, but today was by far the most fun - lovely weather, lots of other people out and about, and explored some great roads.

Bad things I've discovered/experienced for the first time are flies on the visor, and being slightly too hot in my jacket.

Good things I've discovered/experienced are:

The A616 from Ollerton to Newark;

The roads south of Newark between the A1 and A46;

Joining up with other random bikers for a few miles;

I'm definitely better at cornering than I used to be;

Apparently I'm more confident cornering to the left;

The front wheel going a little light when overtaking;

My "boring” CBF600SA is still quicker than a Golf R32 (albeit probably wouldn't be if it got twisty).

Having met the wife and a friend at Rufford Country Park for lunch, I then took the following scenic route home, and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Now all I need is some friends to go out with!

Guys, guys, GUYS! Have you heard about Derbyshire? It's amazing! Lots of 50mph limits, but the roads are twisty enough and I'm new enough that that's fine for me.

Had a 35 mile journey to get to this evening's destination from work, so with some careful planning I managed to make it into a 65 mile trip, and picked up all 4 remaining pubs from the challenge! :mrgreen:

So you'll be coming to the rally then, Lateralus? ....... :wink:

I am now, following some judicious negotiations regarding intentions for my wife's birthday weekend! :mrgreen:

I best pick some good roads for the ride out then :lol:

To be fair, we all feel that way about Hull, Humberside and Yorkshire in general.

Why do they feel the need to preface what they say with "I'm a straight talking Yorkshireman"?

And then when you give it to them straight they can't f**king take it!

Maybe they are intimidated by you? They see you coming at them, all hard, wanting to give it to them - must be a frightening sight.
