So, donny is next week so i needed to find some time to prep the bike.

First i needed a new tool box after mine blew over at brands and broke.

Walked into halfords and told them i race bikes and they sorted me a trade card.

Got this for £60

Give the bike a quick service, new pads/oil/filter and a new bigger sprocket for donington (14/47)

Thanks to Black&White bikes for supplying the products.

And i modded my throttle to make it quicker so i can go from non to wide open in half a twist of the wrist.

Thundersport GB round 2 Donington park 24/25/26th march.

Donington park is a track id like to avoid, this was going to be the worst round for me mentally

Testing.

Testing was in the afternoon, 3 sessions

Id set up with Kenyon Racing #75 and got some support from one of his sponsors.

Simon from SitraMoto took the suspension back to square one.

Went out for the first session, the bike felt ok but coming down the fast right corners on the power the front was pushing away so the bike wouldn't steer.

Back in to Simon a conversation and few hand gestures to signal what was happening. Running 1:59 laps and that's not good enough.

Changes was made and back out for session 2

The bike felt better and would go where i wanted now, starting to get later on the brakes and learning the track i dropped 2 seconds so improving.

Session 3

Felt good untill i come into the hairpin really late on the brakes after that they didn't seem to have the stopping power they did before.

After the session I changed the brake fluid incase it boiled.

Qualifying

I didn't have a good time qualifying, i just couldn't get into a rhythm as fast as the rest of the grid did, still suffering with brake fade i changed the pads as they looked glazed.

I qualified 42nd out of 55 with a 1:52.3

Race 1

Racing in the 600 cup i lined up 15th on the grid

Managed to hold the pack off from behind and finished 5th in class with 1:49.6

Race 2

Race 2 was pretty much identical except for been the last race of the day i struggled with the low sun and brake fade

Finished with 1:49.2 and another 5th in class.

Slowly moving in the right direction.

Sunday

Woke up on sunday to abit of a nightmare.

Between me and kenyon racing we had 2 generators.

Theres packed up on saturday morning, mine got progressively harder to start over the weekend.

Sunday morning it wouldn't start at all.

Took us over an hour to get it in bits and try everything we could think off to get it started.

Because of this i missed the warm up session.

Eventually we got it going and kept it running all day

Race 1

Not felling to good i stuck my leathers on to head out for the first 22.5mile race.

Every time id come to a right hand corner the tyre would slip and spin.

I thought it was me been tired and rough on the throttle.

Not feeling competitive i eased of and let the bikes behind pass, looked behind and nobody there so i just aimed to finish.

Come through the checkered flag and back to my van and my right boot was black with oil, as was my swingarm and tyre.

Not feeling 100% and my next race been the last one of the day i decided to pull out of the race.

That leaves me 14th in the championship, not where i want to be.

A few thankyou's.

Club 30.

A few people have suggested that this is an easier way for people to get involved with #TeamAddy.

30 people donate £30 and in return you will get your name on the bike and van.

It doesn't have to be a name, it could be anything (within reason)

There will also be tickets to watch the racing.

Payment can be sent via paypal at [email protected]

Thankyou.

Cadwell park, il get the bad news out the way first.

Had a highside at hall bends in the morning, but i bounce well and the bike drove itself upto the tyre wall slowly and then had a rest.

The good bits.

It started raining during the sighting laps, so i put the wets went out to warm the bike and then headed over to see Black&White bikes to get my suspension soffened. went out and after a few laps i started to overtake everyone else fairly rapidly.

Massive confidence boost.

It started to dry out so i changed tyres and went out on drys.

Come back to see Black&white bikes, paul made a few changes and i went out again.

The bike was completly diffrent, very responsive and felt like it was on rails.

Masses of feedback from the front, it felt very planted.

I got my head down and got lap after lap in.

Todays been a huge success. Ive got the boost i need so il be going to snett full of confidence.

Big thankyou to paul at Black&White bikes

And

Scott Larkin and his dad for letting me use his genny because mine packed in again.

Sounds like a positive outcome overall! Is this the first time you have had your suspension looked at by a specialist?

I keep saying im going to get mine looked at lol. There is a guy up here called Weardale racing who does setups so im going to get it done before i do any trackdays.

Round 3 Thundersport GB

Headed of to snetterton on friday afternoon with some much needed confidence after some testing at cadwell park a couple of weeks earlier.

Testing in the afternoon gave me 3 sessions to push on and try and work out the finer details of the track.

Low on funds i went out on old tyres.

1st session went well, picked out a couple of braking markers for the 140+mph straights.

Second session was cut short after a few laps due to a red flag but the time was to be added onto session 3.

The third session i managed 1 lap and hit a false neutral, tried to get it to go down a gear and it wouldn't go.

Tried to go up a gear and by then it was to late to make the corner.

I stood the bike up and tried to scrub off as much speed as i could before i hit the grass.

unfortunately as soon as i left the tarmac i lost the front end and went down.

After i finished rolling i jumped up and another bike came past into the gravel so i got myself and the bike to the side asap.

Qualifying.

With 47 riders on track i struggled to get a clean lap in.

I managed 1 and that put me 35th (6th in class) Out of 47 Riders.

Sunday

Race 1

Starting way back on row 10 and in the middle put me in a bad spot for the 1st corner.

Struggling for grip on the rear when exiting the corners i was loosing drive on the other riders.

Finished 24th but 5th in class.

Race2

Change of pressures hoping to get better grip.

Starting better on row 4 and on the inside ment i was in a better place for the 1st corner.

I ended up in a race long battle for 1st with a friend #78. Lots of place swapping but as we come towards the end of the race i knew i had to be smart.

I knew i couldn't gap him so sat behind and watched.

I knew i was better on the brakes but he was better at the second to last corner.

Everytime we had come to that corner he had passed me up the inside.

We come to the last lap and on the back straight we caught another rider up at the end.

I slipped by him and #78 on the brakes hoping to put the slower rider between me and #78, i come to the corner he would pass me on and kept it tight but he slipped round the outside.

Played the last corner smart knowing he would take a tight line to shut me out.

Sure enough he blocked the inside line but in doing so he made his line tight and i had backed off took a wide line and carried my speed through the corner.

It was a sprint to the line and i took 1st by 0.078 of a second.

Also took the fastest freshman lap of the race.

Monday

Race1

Starting way back on row 10 again

Suffered with grip again due to a over inflated tyre, battling for 3rd but i couldn't get the drive from the corners like the bike in front and he edged away.

Got into a battle with a sportsman rider but managed to pull a late manoeuvre on a slower rider at the end of the straight to put some distance between us for the last lap.

Finished 4th in class 15th overall

Race2

Back onto the 4th row.

The grip didn't seem to be there like the previous

The track was cold and i had a few moments.

I got a rubbish start but i always ride better if ive people to chase down.

Lots and lots of oil down on the track to from the days racing.

I got my head down and pressed on.

Started picking riders off and finished 2nd in class and 7th overall.

Even managed to lap another rider.

Overall i had a good meeting

I don't feel like im getting on with the bike still but we are getting better results so heading in the right direction.

Jumped from 14th to 8th in the championship and theres only 5 points between me and 5th place.

A few thankyous.

Kenyon racing, setting up together and keeping moral high.

Team Tollyracing, its the little bits of help that mean the most.

Black&white bikes for spending time with me testing and for the consumables.

Club 30 members you all know who you are, Thankyou.

And the people who came to support me.

It makes a massive difference knowing there's people cheering me on.
